Mackenize Honored by Golf Coaches Association

Seattle, WA - Washington freshman Brock Mackenzie has been named an honorable mention All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Mackenzie, a freshman from Yakima, becomes just the fifth Washington men's golfer to receiver All-America honors.

Mackenzie led Washington this season in stroke average (73.06), top-10 finishes (four), rounds in the 60s (six), events played (12) and rounds played (35).

Mackenzie was Washington's top finisher at the NCAA Championships, shooting 1-over 145. He lost a two-hole playoff for the final individual qualifier position for the last two rounds of the tournament.

Washington's previous golf All-American are: Jim Irvin (1973, honorable mention), O.D. Vincent (1988, honorable mention), Todd Tibke (1989, honorable mention) and Troy Kelly (2000, honorable mention and 2001, third team).
