PULLMAN, Wash. --- Washington State golfer Tasha Browner capped off a spectacular season on the course by receiving an award for her work in the classroom.
Browner and teammate Donna Bell were named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-Scholar Team.
'It's a big honor for Tasha to get this award two years in a row, and Donna in her first year of eligibility, to get the award as well. They continued the tradition. That's three years in a row that we have had players named to that team,' head coach Walt Williams said.
Browner, who ended her 2001 season at the NCAA West Regional, was also named to the team last year alongside departed senior Jenny Ballou. The Tarzana, Calif., native carries a 3.76 grade point average in Psychology and led the Cougars in scoring this year.
Bell, who completed her sophomore year in May, made the team on the strength of her 3.5 grade point average in Business Administration. The Prince George, BC product competed in nine events last year and fired a career-best 73 at the Inland Empire Classic in April.
