Los Angeles, Calif. - Pete Arbogast has been named USC's new football radio play-by-play announcer, athletic director Mike Garrett announced today.
Arbogast will broadcast over USC football's new radio home, KMPC 1540 AM.
'We're pleased to have Pete back to announce USC football,' said Garrett. 'He is a dedicated Trojan and also an excellent play-by-play man. He's the right voice to usher in the Pete Carroll era at USC.'
It's the second time around in the USC radio booth for Arbogast, who was also the voice of Trojan football from 1989 to 1994.
'I've never wanted to do anything else in my professional career than be the voice of the Trojans,' said Arbogast, who graduated from USC in 1978. 'To get it the first time was overwhelming and to come back again is just amazing. I couldn't be happier personallyand professionally.'
Arbogast was most recently the play-by-play man for the Cincinatti Bengals from 1997 until the 2000 season. The veteran announcer also did public address and play-by-play for the Los Angeles Clippers from 1984-1989 and play-by-play for USC women's basketball in 1983 and 1984.
