All 23,000 Gone!
July 17, 2001
CORVALLIS - For the first time in Oregon State football history the Beavers will enter a year with all season tickets sold out.
It became official Monday when Matt Munnelly, director of ticket operations, announced all 23,000 available Oregon State football season tickets for 2001 have been sold.
The 23,000 total shatters all previous records for season tickets at OSU, surpassing last year's total of 14,700 by 8,300 and doubling the 1999 total of 11,500.
'It is a tremendous step for Oregon State football to have sold out in season tickets,' said Director of Athletics Mitch Barnhart. 'Many fans have joined in the enthusiasm for Coach (Dennis) Erickson and the Beavers and I am very appreciative of that support. At the same time, I would like to say thank you for the efforts of our staff, coaches and players who worked together toward this very important time in our program. We look forward to continuing to grow Oregon State football in the years to come.'
Dennis Erickson was also very excited over the sold out status of season tickets at Reser Stadium for the 2001 campaign.
'I am very pleased with the support our program has received from Oregon State fans,' said Erickson. 'It means a lot to our football team to see a packed house each Saturday at Reser Stadium.'
Even though season tickets are completely sold out, there is still an opportunity for the general public to be able to see Oregon State in action at Reser Stadium this year.
Single game tickets are on sale presently for season ticket holders only. General public single game sales will be available beginning August 1, 2001 at 8:30 a.m. while supplies last. It should be noted that the Oregon State-Washington game, scheduled for November 10, is already sold out. As of Monday morning the following number of tickets remained for each home date:
|Sept. 15||Montana State||2,700|
|Oct. 13||Arizona (Dad's Weekend)||1,600|
|Oct. 27||California (Homecoming)||1,600|
|Nov. 10||Washington||Sold Out|
