Hurdler/Jumper Dana Bethel Signs NLI To Attend UCLA

Hurdler/jumper Dana Bethel, from Mission Viejo High School, has signeda National Letter of Intent to attend UCLA. She will be a freshman thisfall on the Bruin women's track and field team.
A four-time State qualifier, Bethel's top marks from last springincluded a 13.83w (she also ran a legal 14.01) in the 100m hurdles and a20-2 3/4w in the long jump. Those marks were listed as some of the nation'stop prep wind-aided efforts in the August edition of Track and Field News.
As a junior in 2000, Bethel's best marks were 14.07 in the 100mhurdles (No. 21 on the U. S. prep chart) and 19-0 1/4 (20-1w) in the longjump. As a sophomore in 1999, Bethel's 13.87 (13.69w) in the 100m hurdleswas No. 7 on the U. S. high school list and she also long jumped 19-5w.
