Ripple Takes Sixth In 100 Butterfly At FINA World Swimming Championships

Fukuoka, Japan - Stanford's Shelly Ripple finished sixth in the finals of the women's 100 meter butterfly on Saturday at the FINA World Swimming Championships. Ripple recorded a time of 59.67 in the finals. She had also placed eighth in both the semifinals (59:96) and the heats (1:00.12) on Friday.
Ripple had finished in the 200 meter butterfly earlier in the week and was a member of the USA's 4x200 freestyle relay team, swimming the first leg in the team's heat before the squad was eventually disqualified in the finals without Ripple.
