Corvallis, Ore. - A total of 125 obstructed view tickets remain for the entire 2001 Oregon State University home football season, it was announced Wednesday by Beaver Director of Ticket Operations Matt Munnelly.
Obstructed view seats, located on the east sidelines behind the OSU team bench, are available only for the Sept. 15 home opener vs. Montana State University. Tickets are priced at $18.00.
Tickets numbered approximately 3,700 at the start of business Wednesday, the initial day single game purchases were accepted by non-season ticket holding customers. The line of customers stretched out the door of Gill Coliseum prior to the windows opening Wednesday.
'There was quite a crush when we opened,' Munnelly said. 'The response by Beaver fans was truly amazing. In fact we lost some of our phone lines in the morning due to the flood of calls we were receiving.'
Oregon State set a school record when it reached its goal of 23,000 season tickets sold in mid-July for the 35,362-seat stadium. In addition, the ticket supply for the Nov. 10 battle with the University of Washington was exhausted in early July. Munnelly stated the Sept. 29 UCLA game was sold out by 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by Arizona by mid-day, and the California contest by mid-afternoon.
Tickets for the Montana State game or for five of the six away contests can be purchased by calling 1-800-GO-BEAVS. The ticket office also announced Wednesday it sold OSU's 1,500-ticket allotment for the Oct. 6 game at Washington State University.
The Beavers open the season at Fresno State University, Sun., Sept. 2, in a game that will air live over ESPN2.
