SEASON OPENER -- UCLA will open the 2001 season onSaturday, Sept. 1 when it travels to Tuscaloosa to face theAlabama Crimson Tide. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.mCT.

The game will be televised nationally by ESPN.Fox Sports Radio AM 1150 and the Bruin Radio Networkbroadcasts all games except when there is a conflict with aLos Angeles Dodger game. The Alabama contest will bebroadcast on XTRA Sports 690 and the Bruin Radio Networkwith Chris Roberts and Matt Stevens in the booth.

This begins UCLA's 83rd season of football. The Bruins owna 53-24-5 record in season openers, including wins in thelast three. UCLA handed Alabama a 35-24 loss in last year'sopener which was played in the Rose Bowl. UCLA is 3-2 inseason openers under head coach Bob Toledo.
