Bruin Swimmers Compete at USA Nationals

This week, Bruin swimmers are competing at the US Nationals, held in Fresno, CA.
On Tuesday, incoming transfer Jackie Lobdell swam a lifetime best in the 800 free (8:59.59), placing 29th. She also swam a liftime best in the 200 back (2:20.57) finishing 27th.
In Wednesday's action, several Bruins swam lifetime bests. Erica Shugart finished 40th in the 100 free prelims, swimming a lifetime best 58.99. Naoko Watanabe and Leanne Cadag also swam liftime bests in the 100 free prelims. In the 200 fly, Katie Younglove finished eighth in the 'B' finals (16th overall) in 2:19.31. Former Bruin, Beth Goodwin, finished first in the 'C' finals (17th overall) in 2:14.97. In the prelims of the 200 fly, Kristen Lewis swam a lifetime best 2:20.59, finished 39th. Wrapping up Wednesday's action, Cathy Coler placed 29th in the 200 breast prelims in 2:38.59.
On Thursday, Cathy Coler placed 46th in the 400 IM prelims at 5:04.32.
