Women's Swimmer Tara Kirk Takes Second In 100 Breaststroke At Summer Nationals

Fresno, Calif. - Stanford's Tara Kirk finished second in the finals of the 100 meter breaststroke on Friday at the 2001 Phillips 66 Summer National Championships. Kirk recorded a time of 1:09.51 to place just behind a 1:08.61 posted by winner Megan Quann (Puyallup AC).

Jessica Foschi placed 12th in the 400 meter freestyle with a time of 4:17.48. Foschi had finished 13th in the finals of the women's 200 meter freestyle on Thursday.

Foschi and Kirk are both swimming at the event for the Met West Stanford National Training Center Swim Club. The Summer Nationals conclude with a full day of action on Saturday, August 18.
