Foschi Finishes Sixth In 400 Free At World University Games

Beijing, China - Stanford's Jessica Foschi finished sixth in the finals of the women's 400 meter freestyle on Saturday at the 2001 World University Games in Beijing, China. Foschi recorded a time of 4:16.70 in the finals. Foschi had clocked the third-best qualifying time with a mark of 4:16.76 in her heat.

A busy Foschi had earlier finished seventh in the women's 800 meter freestyle on Thursday with a time of 8:48.70 in the finals. On Friday, Foschi swam the third leg for the USA in a 4x200 meter freestyle heat to help the Americans to the top qualifying time (8:11.68) in the event. The USA won the gold in the event later in the day, without Foschi, recording a mark of 8:10.68.
