UA Gymnasts Earn Scholastic All-America Honors

Five University of Arizona women's gymnasts have earned Scholastic All-America honors from the National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches.

Senior Lindsay Compitello, senior Emily Peterman, sophomore Allison Hay, senior Mary Reiss, and senior Heather Straccia round out the list of Gymcat honorees. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 grade point average or better from the previous semester to be considered for the Scholastic All-America honor.

Arizona opens its season on Jan. 4, 2002, when it travels to Lahaina, Hawaii, for the Maui Invitational.
