UCLA T & F Update From The Goodwill Games

UCLA alum Amy Acuff, who this year won the USA outdoor and indoorwomen's high jump titles, tied for third place and won a bronze medal, witha leap of 6-4. Acuff tied with Vita Palamar (Ukraine), as both womencleared the bar on their second attempts. The competition was won by worldchampion Hestrie Cloete (South Africa/6-6 3/4).

In other events on Thursday, Bruin alum Seilala Sua placed fifth(202-5) in the women's discus. The event was won by Belarus' Ellina Zvereva(217-8). It was Sua's second event of the competition. She also finishedninth (54-2 1/2) in the women's shot put on Wednesday. At the USAChampionships earlier this summer, Sua won both the shot put and discus.
