Women's Golf Takes Third At Topy Cup

Tanagura, Japan - The USC women's golf team shot a final round 304 and finished with a three-round total of 906 to place third at the Topy Cup held at the Tanagura Country Club in Tanagura, Japan, on Sept. 4-6 (Mon.-Wed.).

Junior Mikaela Parmlid shot 219, including a second-round 70, to finish sixth.

Auburn won the team title with a score of 879, followed by Japanese squad Tohoku Fukushi with 889, then USC.

M. Saitoh of Tohoku Fukushi won the individual title with a score of 210, followed by Troche of Auburn with 214.

Junior Becky Lucidi, who transferred from New Mexico State, shot 224 to finish 10th in her USC debut. Sophomore Anna Rawson shot 229 to tie for 12th, while sophomore Anna Lee shot 236 to tie for 20th and junior Yon Yim shot 237 to tie for 22nd.

USC is next in action at the 2001 NCAA Fall Preview held at the Washington National Golf Club in Auburn, Wash., on Sept. 24-26.
