Men's Golf Records Second Place Effort At Northwest Collegiate Classic

LEBANON, Ore. - Sparked by top-15 efforts from Dustin White, Jon Reehoorn and Jeremy Taylor, the Washington State men's golf team began the 2001 fall golf season with a second place finish at the Northwest Collegiate Classic, Tuesday.
The Cougars completed the two-day, 54-hole event with a score of 855, one stroke ahead of third place and host school Oregon State. The University of Oregon captured the team title with a total of 843.
White, a junior from Pueblo West, Colo., led the Cougars as he completed the event with a two-under par total of 211 (71-69-71), six strokes behind Sean Deacon of Oregon State's 'Black' squad who finished the tournament with an eight-under par total of 205 (70-67-68).
Reehoorn, a senior from Burlington, Wash., followed up consecutive 71's, Monday with a final round 72 to finish in a tie for 15th (214, +1). Joining Reehoorn in 15th position was Taylor, a senior from West Richland, Wash., who shot rounds of 73-69-72 en route to his 214 total.
The men's team returns to action, Monday, Sept. 24 at the Vandal Golf Invitational at Moscow, Idaho.
