Women's Golf Ranked No. 8 In GolfWorld Coaches Poll

Trumbull, CT - As the fall season gets underway, Duke University earned the No. 1 sport for the women's preseason poll, according to Golf World's College Golf Coaches' Poll. The Blue Devils also have four of their five starters returning, including NCAA individual champion Candy Hannemann. Hannemann, however, will be sidelined this fall, recovering from surgery on an injured right ankle.
Defending NCAA women's champion Georgia ranked tied for fifth. Completing the top-10 women's teams are: Auburn, Texas, Arizona, Tulsa, Southern California, Stanford, Oklahoma State and New Mexico State.
Six Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25 including Arizona, USC, Stanford, UCLA, Arizona State and California.
