Greco Sidelined With Torn ACL

Sept. 17, 2001

Los Angeles - Bruin forward Lindsay Greco, the leading scorer for the No. 2 UCLA women's soccer team, tore her ACL in practice last Thursday and will miss the remainder of the 2001 season.

Greco, a sophomore from Trabuco Canyon, Calif., started all four of UCLA's games this season, registering a team-best 13 points on six goals and one assist. Just last week she was named to Soccer America's Team of the Week following an impressive weekend at the Orange/Blue Classic in which she registered a hat trick and an assist against Louisville on Sept. 7. She followed that game up with a goal against Syracuse on Sept. 9, giving her nine points in two games.

As a freshman last season, Greco ranked fourth on the team in scoring with 20 points (8g, 4a). With UCLA only four games into the 2001 season, she will be applying for a medical redshirt through the Pac-10 Conference.
