Men's Golf In 13th At Tucker Intercollegiate

The Oregon State men's golf team, led by senior golfer David Yarnes' 1-over 145, shot 599 over the first two rounds of the William Tucker Intercollegiate on Friday and is in 13th place with 18 holes to play Saturday morning.

The University of New Mexico's par-72, 7,253-yard Championship Course hosts the event.

Yarnes opened the morning with a 1-under 71 and closed with a 74 to tie for 14th. Teammate Michael Jurgensen is knotted with five other golfers for 22nd after a 147.

Daren Greig and Sean Deacon, a sophomore who won two weeks ago at the Northwest Collegiate Classic, are within a shot of each other after shooting 153 and 154, respectively.

The Beavers are within 13 shots of seventh-place Arizona, and are 19 shots out of second.

New Mexico holds an eight-stroke lead over Pepperdine thanks to a 4-under 572. Colorado, San Diego State and UNLV round out the top five.
