Stanford-USC Football Game to be Televised Live

Sept. 21, 2001

The Stanford-USC football game on September 29 at the Los Angeles Coliseum will be televised live in the Bay Area on KRON, it was announced today. Kickoff time has been set for 3:30 pm.

Ted Robinson will call the play-by-play with former Stanford and NFL player Toi Cook providing the color commentary. Robinson, a member of the San Francisco Giants broadcast team, is Stanford's play-by-play voice on KTCT, the Cardinal's flagship radio station. He will move over to the television side for this game.

Cook was a three-year letterwinner at Stanford from 1983-86, then played in the NFL for 11 seasons (1987-93 with New Orleans, 1994-95 with the 49ers, 1996 with the Broncos and '97 with the Carolina Panthers).

Tim Roye, radio voice of the Golden State Warriors, will handle the play-by-play duties on KTCT with Bob Murphy as the color analyst.

Stanford and KRON earlier announced a new, multi-year agreement to make KRON the Bay Area 'Home of Stanford Athletics.' The Stanford-USC football game will be the first broadcast under the new partnership.
