Randy Fasani Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

Walnut Creek, calif. - Stanford quarterback Randy Fasani was named Offensive Pac-10 Player of the Week today. Oregon cornerback Steve Smith and Washington kick returner Roc Alexander also earned conference honors this week.

Fasani, a senior from Granite Bay, Calif., led the Cardinal to a 51-28 victory in the conference opener against Arizona State on Saturday. Fasani completed 17 of 26 passes (.654) for 295 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions. Under Fasani's direction, Stanford tallied 548 yards of total offense while recording seven touchdowns and committing no turnovers.

Stanford will travel to Los Angeles to face USC on Saturday, Sept. 29. In 2000, Stanford defeated USC 32-30, while Fasani completed 18 of 36 passes for 196 yards.
