Sept. 25, 2001
AUBURN, Wash.-Play at the NCAA Fall Preview women's golf tournament was suspended at 5:42 p.m. PDT Tuesday. Arizona was unable to complete the second round before tournament officials decided to postpone the remaining holes until Wednesday at 7:15 a.m.
Washington National Golf Course was deemed unplayable due to standing water on the greens. In addition to the Wildcats, eight other teams had not completed second round action when play was suspended.
Tournament officials plan to resume play Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. and postpone the shotgun start of the third round until 10 a.m.
Sophomore Lorena Ochoa had completed 16 holes of play before the suspension of play and sits in first place at 4-under-par. Also still on the course for Arizona was junior Laura Myerscough, who was at 7-over-par for the day.
