Play Suspended at Women's Golf Fall Preview

Auburn, WA - A steady afternoon rain forced play to stop during the second round of the NCAA Fall Preview women's golf championship at Washington National Golf Course. Standing water on the greens made course conditions unplayable at 5:42 p.m.

At the time play was suspended, Auburn held a one-shot lead over Tulsa among the teams that had completed all 18 holes of play. The Tigers shot 3-over 291 for a two-day total of 591. Auburn was led by the play of Celeste Troche, who carded a 1-under 71 for a two-day total of 145.

Arizona's Lorena Ochoa was on her way to taking the individual lead when play was suspended. Ochoa was at 3-under on the day after 16 holes of play. Her round featured seven birdies, including four in a row. Ochoa shot 1-under 71 during the opening round.

Pepperdine's Katherine Hull was the individual leader among the players who finsished 18 holes of play. Hull carded a 2-under 70 for a two-day total of 142.

Monday's first round leaders, Duke Virada Nirapathpongporn and Tennessee's Young-A Yang were still among the leaders when play was halted. Nirapathpongporn was even after 10 holes while Yang was 1-over par after 13 holes. Both players shot 70 during the first round of play.

The second round of the Fall Preview is scheduled to restart at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday. At the conclusion of the round, the final 18 holes will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
