Third-Ranked Arizona Volleyball Among Division I Leaders

TUCSON, Ariz.- The Arizona volleyball team heads off to Southern California for a weekend match-up with eighth-ranked UCLA and fifth-ranked USC as one of the most potent teams in the nation. The Wildcats, as a team and individually, rank among the top schools in the country in a number of statistical categories released by the NCAA.
Arizona, which led the nation in hitting percentage a season ago, currently rank fifth in the category this season at .322. The Cats are ninth in blocks per game (3.45), 10th in kills per game (17.05) and 28th in assists (15.05).
Individually, junior Stefani Saragosa continues to lead the nation in hitting percentage at .538. Senior teammate Jill Talbot is seventh with a .476 attack percentage. Talbot's classmate Dana Burkholder is tied for 22nd among all Division I setters with a 12.73 assist per game average and junior Lisa Rutledge is 30th in kills per game (4.52).
The Cats will take on UCLA in Pauley Pavilion on Friday and USC in the Lyon Center on Saturday. Both matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. The UCLA match will be shown on a tape-delay basis on Fox Sports Net. Please consult your local listings for air times.
