Women's Soccer Plays To Scoreless Tie

MORAGA, Calif. - The USC Trojans battled the No. 24 St. Mary's Gaels through regulation and two overtime period Wednesday as both teams settled for a 0-0 tie. It was the third time in school history that USC has played to a scoreless tie (Oct. 14, 1994 at UC San Diego and Sept. 21, 1997 vs. San Jose State).

Senior Shaelyn Fernandes registered her second shutout of the season and eighth of her career, moving her into third place on USC's all-time list for most career shutouts.

The Women of Troy held the advantage in shots, 23-20, as both teams recorded quality chances throughout the match.

USC (3-3-1) now has a three-game unbeaten streak after today's match against St. Mary's (6-0-1).

The Trojans will return to action this Sunday (Sept. 30) at Loyola Marymount at 1 p.m.
