Men's Golf Slips to 13th Place at The Preview by Ping & <i>Golfweek</i>

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The University of Arizona men's golf team slipped three places in the standings after posting a team total of 593 after two rounds of play at The Preview by Ping & Golfweek.
The Wildcats' 13-over-par 297 Saturday gave the squad a 593 total (+25) through two rounds. That score is 22 strokes off the pace set by Clemson at 571 (+3). UA currently stands in 13th place in the field of 15 teams. Florida (573), Georgia (575), Oklahoma State (580) and Wake Forest (581) round out the top five places.
Sophomore Chris Nallen was the only Wildcat golfer to improve his placing in the field on Saturday, as he carded a one-over-par 72 and stands tied for 22nd place after 36 holes with a 146 total (+4). Junior Ricky Barnes shot a 74 (+3) and is tied for 35th place at 148 (+6).
The Preview by Ping & Golfweek features 15 of the nation's top programs competing at the site of the 2002 NCAA Men's Golf Championships. Ohio State University's Scarlet Course, a par 71, 7,239-yard facility, serves as the venue for this invitation-only event.
The 54-hole tournament concludes with 18 holes on Sunday.
