Marcus Hoover Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. --- Stanford senior Marcus Hoover was named Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Week after last Saturday's 21-16 win at USC.
A defensive end from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Hoover led the Cardinal defense as it held the Trojans to just 13 first downs, only 28 yards rushing and 268 yards of total offense. Hoover posted eight tackles, including two tackles-for-loss one of which was a quarterback sack (-15) and one pass deflected. His sack occurred on USC's final possession to protect Stanford's five-point lead.
The Cardinal has a bye week this Saturday, but will return to action on Saturday, October 13 at 2:00 p.m. to face the Washington State Cougars in Stanford Stadium.
