Roger Levesque Named Men's Soccer Pac-10 Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Stanford junior forward Roger Levesque (Portland, Maine) has been named the Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for Sept. 24-Oct. 1, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Tuesday morning.
Levesque tallied eight points on the weekend to lead the Cardinal to its fifth straight Stanford/Nike Invitational Championship, posting 4-0 shutouts in each tournament game. Levesque notched the first hat trick of his collegiate career in the win over Dartmouth on Sept. 28. He followed that solid performance with by recording two assists in the blanking of Fresno State Sept. 30. Levesque is the team-leader in goals scored this season with four, as well as points (10). The 6-0 junior also shares the lead in assists (2) with Aaron Biddle and Derek Shanahan.
This is the third all-time Player of the Week honor for the Cardinal.
Levesuqe was also a Soccer America Team of the Week selection, for the week of Sept. 24-30.
Stanford (6-0-0), ranked No. 2 in this week's NSCAA poll and ninth by Soccer America, returns to action Thursday night when it hosts San Jose State at Maloney Field at 7:30 p.m.
