2001-02 PAC-10 Men's Basketball Television Schedule
Oct. 4, 2001
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The 2001-02 Pacific-10 Conference basketball television package features 61 regular-season men's contests telecast to national and regional audiences, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Pac-10 men's basketball package includes 39 games nationally and regionally on FOX Sports Net, 11 nationally or regionally on CBS (including the Pac-10 Tournament championship game), and five nationally on ABC. In addition, Pac-10 teams will make national appearances on ESPN/ESPN2 six times (with the possibility of five additional national ESPN/ESPN2 telecasts from in-season tournaments).
Additional regional and local men's telecasts will be arranged and announced by the institutions. Many of these telecasts arranged by the institutions will be aired on one of several FOX Sports Net regionals in the Pac-10 market (FOX Sports Net Northwest, FOX Sports Net Bay Area, FOX Sports Net West, FOX Sports Net West 2 and FOX Sports Net ARIZONA).
'Pac-10 members play challenging non-Conference schedules against highly rated teams. Combined with the attractive intra-Conference games on the schedule, telecasts of those games will offer viewers entertaining college basketball contests throughout the coming season,' Hansen said. 'Pac-10 basketball will receive excellent coverage, possibly the most extensive ever, reflecting the notable success of Conference teams in last year's NCAA Championships. Also, this season culminates with the Pac-10 Tournament highlighted by a national telecast on CBS.'
The Pac-10's television exposure tips off for the men on Thursday, November 8, when ARIZONA meets Maryland in a Coaches vs. Cancer matchup on ESPN2.
The 18 game regional telecast schedule is not seen in all regions. Regions participating in coverage on Pac-10 regional games include: FSN Arizona, FSN Northwest, FSN West & West 2 and FSN Bay Area. Schedule subject to change. Live coverage of pro teams in each region supercedes live coverage of college basketball. Check your local listing and times.
