Men's Golf Remains No. 2 in <i>Golf World</i> College Coaches' Poll

TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona men's golf team retained its No. 2 national ranking in voting released Thursday by Golf World magazine.

The top four teams remained the same in the second edition of the Golf World College Golf Coaches' poll. The Wildcats earned 347 points in balloting done by 16 NCAA Division I men's golf coaches to rank second nationally in the rankings, 26 points behind top-ranked Florida. No. 3 Georgia Tech and No. 4 Oklahoma State held firm, while Georgia moved into the No. 5 slot with 305 points.

Arizona has received a top-10 national ranking in 15 of the last 16 seasons, including nine seasons with a ranking of No. 2 or better.

The Arizona men's golf team is back in action on Oct. 8-9 at the 14th annual Taylor Made Red River Classic in Dallas. The 54-hole event will be contested at the Dallas Athletic Club, a par 72, 6,776-yard layout.
