Men's Golf Ties For Second-Place At Fresno Lexus Golf Classic

Fresno, Calif. - The Stanford men's golf team tied for second-place in the final day of the Fresno Lexus Golf Classic Saturday afternoon at the Par 72 Sunnyside Country Club. Ron Won (Irvine, CA) was the Cardinal's top finisher placing third with a three round total of four-under 212.

Stanford recorded a final team total of 874, tying them with Nevada (874) and Pacific (874) at the 39th annual tournament. Host school Fresno State won the event with a score of 834.

Won carded scores of 75, 66 and 69, to finish the classic four-under par. Teammate Blake Mastalir (Englewood, CO) tied for 14th-place after shooting a three-over par 219 with rounds of 73, 72, 74. Philip Rowe (Cornwall, UK) finished tied for 33rd-place with seven-over 223.

Fresno State's Nick Watney won medalist honors, firing a 13-under 203.
