Men's Tennis: Veress falls in second round of All American Championships

Stone Mountain, GA - Cal sophomore Balass Veress lost yesterday in the second round of the All American Championships, which are currently being held in Stone Mounatain, GA.
The 36th-ranked Veress took the first set from Jessie Witten of Kentucky, 6-2. Veress and Witten played a hard-fought second set, with Witten eventually emerging by a 7-5 mark. Veress then dropped the third and final set, 6-0.
The sophomore breezed through the first round, winning his first set 6-2 over 16th seed Kristofer Stahlberg of Mississippi. Stahlberg then retired, allowing Veress to advance.
Next up for Cal men's tennis is another indivudual event, the ITA Regionals. These will take place in Santa Clara, CA during the last weekend of October, the 26th to the 29th.
The first team action for men's tennis comes in February.
