Oct. 15, 2001
Welcome to ESPN.com's moderated chat room. On Thursday, Stanford senior defender Lee Morrison hits the chat to talk about the No. 2-ranked Cardinal men's soccer team, who have started the season 9-1-0.
Morrison, a senior from Carmichael, Calif., has helped anchor Stanford's defense this season, which is holding opponents to 0.60 GAA (Goals Against Average). Morrison, who has now started 76 consecutive games and is eleven shy of breaking the all-time Cardinal mark in that category, has recorded three goals and one assist this season and is fifth on the team with seven points.
Morrison has also been announced as a men's candidate for the 2001 Hermann Trophy, college soccer's oldest and most prestigious player of the year award. The Cardinal defender was a finalist for the Hermann award last season and finished third in the voting for the Missouri Athletic Club in 2000. The 2000 All Pac-10 First Team selection and Second Team NSCAA/adidas All-American tallied three goals and four assists last year for Stanford. Morrison also made the All-Tournament Team at the adidas Cal Legacy Classic earlier this season.
The Cardinal will look to continue their strong start Friday night , when they square off against rival California at home at 7:30 p.m.
Morrison won't hit chat until Thursday at 11:30 p.m. PT. Feel free to drop him some questions now and we'll save them for his arrival.
