Sophomore Courtney Carter Honored By US Bank

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Courtney Carter has been honored as the recipient of the US Bank OSU Woman of Distinction for the month of October, US Bank announced Monday.

The award recognizes outstanding female student-athletes at OSU based on academic achievement and community involvement.

Carter, a sophomore soccer player from West Linn, Ore., carries a 3.63 grade point average as a business administration major.

She is the community service chair for the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and recently coordinated the SAAC food drive. Her efforts helped raise over 14,000 pounds of food for the Linn-Benton Food Share.

In addition, Carter has participated in the Read Across America program in local elementary schools and has spoken to student-athletes at Corvallis High School.

On the soccer field, Carter is one of the Beavers' key players, ranking second on the team for total points (10) and goals scored (5).
