UW Women's Golfers in Third Place

Stanford, CA - The Washington women's golf team is in third place after the first 18 holes of play at the Stanford Intercollegiate. The Huskies fired an opening round score of 293 to tie California for third place. Vanderbilt leads the tournament at 280 followed by Tulsa at 284.
Washington was led on the first day of play by junior Louise Friberg, who carded an even-round 72. Friberg is tied for 12th place. Senior Kelli Kamimura and freshman Paige Mackenzie turned in rounds of 73 for the Huskies. Sophomore Lindsay Morgan shot 75 and Bianca Clark turned in a score of 75. Michelle Grafos, playing as an independent, turned in a score of 76.
Arizona State's Jimin Kang shot 7-under 65 to take the lead after the first round.
Tournament play continues on Saturday and Sunday.
