Ducks Climb a Spot at Stanford

STANFORD, Calif. - Kathy Cho's 74 and Kim Melrose's 76 helped the Oregon women's golf team climb a spot to 16th after the second round of the Stanford/Pepsi Invitational, being played at the par-72, 6,154-yard Stanford Golf Course.

Cho's 74 lifted her into a tie for 49th at 153. Melrose's 76 was the best round as a Duck for the transfer from Mt. San Antonio Junior College. She is tied for 81st at 182 after two rounds.

Tulsa took the team lead at 570, followed by Vanderbilt at 576 and Washington at 583. Oregon shot a 311 Saturday and has a total of 632, which is two strokes better than Washington State.

Final round action gets underway Sunday morning at 8 a.m.
