Final Results Of The ASU/Thunderbirds Men's Tennis Invitational

TEMPE, Ariz. - University of Arizona's Steven Capriati claimed the 2001 Thunderbirds Men's Tennis title today as he defeated Arizona State's Olivier Charroin, 6-2, 6-4 in the finals of the Gold Draw. Arkansas' Oggie Kolev defeated Arizona's Bruno Arapovic in an eight game pro-set, 8-2 to win the (A) Draw, while Arizona State's Pim Van Mele won the (C) Draw over Arizona's Carl Hagman, 3-6, 7-6 (3), retired. In the doubles championship match, the Arkansas duo of Kolev and Aleksey Bubis defeated Arizona's team of Capriati and Hagman, 8-2.
