Men's Basketball Will Hold Open Scrimmage
Oct. 22, 2001
PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Washington State men's basketball team will play an intrasquad scrimmage at 9:30 a.m., Saturday at Beasley Coliseum.
The scrimmage will be open to the public and will serve as opportunity for fans to get a first hand look at the 2001-02 Cougars, under the direction of third-year head coach Paul Graham.
WSU posted 12 wins last season, doubling its victory total from the 1999-2000 campaign, and returns four starters.
Among those starters is senior Mike Bush (Riverside, Calif.) who led the Cougars with a 15.9 points per game average last season. He will not take part in the scrimmage because he is a starting wide receiver on the WSU football team ranked 14th in the country with a 7-0 mark.
Players in action Saturday include senior center J Locklier (Rock Hill, S.C.), the 2001 Pacific-10 Conference Newcomer of the year and sophomore Marcus Moore (Inglewood, Calif.), a member of the 2001 Pacific-10 All-Freshman team.
Admission to the scrimmage is free.
