PALO ALTO, Calif. - Washington sophomore Erin Hoe won two matches Sunday to advance to the semifinals of the consolation singles bracket of the Northwest Regional Women's Championships at Stanford's Taube Family Tennis Stadium.

Hoe will meet Stanford's Lizzy Bennett on Monday morning. The winner of that match vies for the championship against the winner of the other semifinal that features Chris Martinez of Washington State against Fresno State's Courtney Jantz.

In the round of 16, Hoe recorded a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Kate Romm of Cal Poly. She defeated Stanford's Emilia Anderson in the quarterfinals by a 6-3, 7-5 count.

In other Sunday action involving Washington competitors, junior Darija Klaic suffered a 6-3, 6-3 loss to Raquel Kops-Jones of California in the singles main draw quarterfinals. The UW tandem of sophomore Claire Carter and Klaic lost 9-8 in the doubles semifinals to the Stanford duo of Lauren Barnikow and Erin Burdette.

Stanford senior Gabriela Lastra and freshman Erin Burdette will meet for the regional singles championship on Monday morning after both posted straight set quarterfinal and semifinal wins on Sunday. Burdette will also take part in the doubles final with sophomore teammate Lauren Barnikow.

Lastra, who is the second seed in the tournament, continued her dominance with a pair of easy wins. The senior from Reno, Nevada, beat unseeded Catherine Lynch of California 6-1, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and sixth-seeded Chloe Carlotte of Fresno State 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals. Lastra has lost only 16 games in her five wins this weekend.

The ninth-seeded Burdette pulled off a pair of upsets to reach the final. She knocked off senior teammate, and fifth-seeded, Keiko Tokuda, 6-2, 6-3 in the quarterfinals and sixth-seeded Chloe Carlotte of Fresno State 6-4, 6-4 in the semis.

In the doubles semifinals, second-seeded Burdette and Barnikow held off third-seeded Claire Carter and Darija Klaic of Washington 9-8. The Stanford duo will meet top-seeded Simone Jardim and Kim Niggemeyer in Monday's finals. Jardim and Niggemeyer cruised past fourth-seeded Carla Arguelles and Raquel Kops-Jones of California 8-3 in the other semifinal.
