Katie Henderson Earns Soccer America Honors

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State University's women's soccer standout Katie Henderson was named to the Soccer America Team of the Week for Oct. 22-28 as was announced late Tuesday.
Henderson, a junior, scored a goal and recorded an assist in Oregon State's 2-1 upset victory against No. 3 ranked UCLA on Sunday. The midfielder also cleared a UCLA shot at the goal line in the final minute to preserve the victory for the Beavers, their first against the Bruins since 1995. In last Friday's match against USC, Henderson led the offensive effort with a team-high four shots.
Henderson leads OSU in scoring on the season with seven goals and five assists for a total of 19 points. The Littleton, Colo., native ranks ninth in the Oregon State record books for career scoring (41 points), ninth in assists (9) and eighth in goals scored (16).
The Soccer America award is Henderson's second of the season, she earned the award for Aug. 31- Sept. 2 after scoring three goals and making two assists in Oregon State's season opening wins against University of Dayton and the Air Force Academy.
The Beavers are on the road for a Thursday match against Sacramento State before finishing the home season with a showdown against Oregon on Sunday.
