Oct. 30, 2001
SAN FRANCISCO -- Pac-10 Properties and Fox Sports Enterprises today announced that Bank of America will be a presenting sponsor for the Pac-10 Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournaments. As the official bank of the Pac-10 Conference, the role as presenting sponsor starts this fall with television advertising and continues through the post-season basketball tournaments which begin play in 2002.
'This sponsorship is a fully integrated marketing and advertising partnership including media on Fox Sports Net, consumer promotions and on-site elements surrounding the tournaments,' said John Kasser, Vice President/General Manager of Pac-10 Properties. 'Bank of America also receives logo rights with their commitment.'
As part of this two-year agreement Bank of America will utilize its existing relationship with Alaska Airlines to promote co-branded credit and debit card products. In December, an announcement will be made detailing the specifics of a sweepstakes campaign featuring the Alaska Airlines Visa Platinum Card and offering prizes surrounding the Pac-10 tournament.
'We're obviously very excited to sponsor the Pac-10 Basketball Tournaments,' said Dockery Clark, sponsorship marketing executive, Bank of America. 'We select sponsorships that allow us to provide additional value to our clients and customers and this is a perfect match between our co-branded Alaska Airlines products and the footprints of the Pac-10 teams.'
The Pac-10 Women's Tournament will be a four-day event held in Eugene, Ore., on the campus of the University of Oregon. First round games will be played Friday, March 1 and the championship game played on Monday, March 4. The Pac-10 Men's Tournament will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 9.
