Women's Swimming and Diving Ranked No. 1 In Poll

Stanford, CA - Both the Stanford men's and women's swimming and diving teams are ranked No. 1 in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll release November 1.
The Stanford men garnered all eight first place votes while the women's captured seven votes. Five Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25 on the men's side, four in the top 10. On the women's side, six Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25 with five ranked in the top 10.
Both the men's and women's teams finished second at last year's NCAA Championships and returned several All-Americans for the 2001 season.
Both 2001 defending NCAA National Champions are ranked second behind the Cardinal (Georgia on the women's side and Texas on the men's side).
The men's swimming and diving team are next in action this Friday, November 9, hosting San Francisco State in a dual meet in the Avery Aquatic Complex at 2 p.m. The women travel to the Texas Invite, November 30 through December 2 in Austin, Texas.
