Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week (11/6/01)
Nov. 6, 2001
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- OREGON STATE sophomore midfielder Lindsey Beem has been named the Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 30-Nov. 5, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Beem, from Vancouver, Wash., scored four goals on 11 shots in Oregon State's wins over Sacramento State and rival Oregon last week. Beem netted OSU's second goal in the 2-1 victory over the Hornets Nov. 2. She followed that performance by recording a hat trick in the 4-1 Civil War victory on Nov. 4, OSU's first over the Ducks in women's soccer since 1996.
Beem has six goals and five assists on the season, ranking second on the squad with 17 points. Her 24 shots on goal are the most by an Oregon State player this season.
The Beavers' 10 wins this season qualify as the most in head coach Steve Fennah's four years at the helm. The squad's two Conference wins are the most since the 1995 season. Oregon State (10-7-1 overall, 2-5-0 Pac-10) concludes the regular season this weekend at Washington State (Nov. 9) and Washington (Nov. 11).
This is Beem's first career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and Oregon State's second women's soccer Player of the Week honor all-time.
