Women's Basketball to Play Final Exhibition Thursday Against Western Oregon
Nov. 7, 2001
EUGENE, Ore. - The University of Oregon women's basketball team plays host Thursday to Western Oregon in the Ducks' final exhibition. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. at McArthur Court.
Western Oregon, an NCAA Division II school based in Monmouth, finished 15-12 last season and 12-10 in the PacWest Conference. This year, the Wolves are a member of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
Oregon, meanwhile, is coming off an 83-77 victory last Friday over a Hungarian all-star team in first-year coach Bev Smith's debut.
The Ducks and Wolves haven't played each other since Feb. 25, 1978, when Western Oregon was known as the Oregon College of Education. The series is tied 6-6.
The Ducks, who have made eight straight NCAA Tournament appearances, open the regular season Nov. 17 at home against Wisconsin-Green Bay, a WNIT postseason participant one year ago.
Ticket prices are $12 (adult reserved), $8 (adult general admission) and $5 (senior citizens/children). The McArthur Court ticket office opens an hour-and-a-half before each game.
