Stanford Travels To Auburn Tiger-Derby Invitational: The 14th-ranked Stanford women's golf team competes in their fourth tournament this fall when they head to Alabama for the Auburn Tiger-Derby Invitational, November 9-11 at the Auburn University Club. The course is a par 72 (6,234 yards). Teams will play 18 holes each day Friday through Sunday. Tee times for the first two rounds will begin at 7:30 a.m. from the first and 10th tees. An 8:00 a.m. shotgun start will kick off the final 18 holes. Five players will compete, with the four low scores counting toward the team total.

The Field: A total of 12 teams will compete this weekend: No. 7 Arizona, No. 1 Auburn, No. 4 Duke, No. 6 Georgia, No. 9 Oklahoma State, No. 15 Pepperdine, No. 14 Stanford, No. 10 Southern California, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 3 Texas, No. 2 Tulsa and No. 22 UCLA. All twelve teams competing this weekend are ranked in the top 25 making this the most competitive tournament for the Cardinal this season.

Last Year At the Auburn Tiger-Derby Invitational: Stanford did not compete in the tournament. Host, Auburn, won the invite in 2000, turning in a three-day total of 894 (297-293-304). Lina Thoren from Mississippi State took top individual honors shooting a one-over par 217 (73-74-70).

Last Time Out: Stanford placed ninth at the Stanford-Pepsi Invitational with an 897 (305-295-297) for the tourney. The Cardinal's top individual finisher was junior Kim Rowton who tied for 27th with a 223 (74-79-70) followed by sophomore Angela Rho who tied for 30th at 224 (78-70-76). Kim Kouwabunpat tied for 40th (77-73-77--227). Jessica Belskis and Wendra Liang tied for 44th with a 228. Senior Salimah Mussani checked in tied for 58th with a 234.

Cardinal Ranked 14th In Latest GolfWorld Coaches Poll: In the latest GolfWorld Women's College Coaches Poll (as of November 1) has Stanford checking in at No. 14. The top 10 is as follows: 1. Auburn, 2. Tulsa, 3. Texas, 4. Duke, 5. Ohio State, 6. Georgia, 7. Arizona, 8. Arizona State, 9. Oklahoma State and 10. Southern California. Six Pac-10 teams are ranked in the top 25 including No. 22 UCLA and No. 23 California.

Up Next: The Cardinal take a break after this weekend's tournament and won't return to action until the spring season with the Regional Challenge in February.
