Women Of Troy Post 30-Point Victory In Final Exhibition Game.

Los Angeles, Calif. - Sophomores Ebony Hoffman and Aisha Hollans combined for 47 points to lead USC women's basketball to a 93-63 win over Team Concept (an AAU team from Portland, Ore.) in the Women of Troy's final exhibition game on Saturday (Nov. 10) in front of 267 at the Lyon Center.
The return of Hoffman and Hollans powered the Trojans to a 30-point victory as the two accounted for 23 and 24 points, respectively. Hollans hit 10-of-19 from the field, including 3-of-5 from three-point range. Hoffman also led with nine assists and three blocks, while senior Carmen Krause led with nine boards.
Team Concept kept it close at the start, leading 29-25 with 6:50 remaining in the half. But the Women of Troy put together a 19-0 run by forcing a series of turnovers and dropping easy layups to gain a 44-29 advantage at the two-minute mark. USC entered the break with a 48-33 lead.
With a slow start to the second half, Team Concept closed the gap to 50-42 (13:29) but would come no closer. Keeping the visiting team scoreless for nearly six minutes, the Trojans led by as much as 36 points (87-51) before posting the final 93-63 victory.
USC opens the 2001-02 season on the road at St. Joseph's on Nov. 16 and Tennessee on Nov. 18. The Women of Troy open the home schedule on Nov. 21 at the Sports Arena against Morgan State.
