Tank Williams and Mike Biselli Named Pac-10 Players of the Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. --- The Pac-10 announced the conference Players of the Week today and Stanford claimed two of the three honors. Safety Tank Williams was named for defense and kicker Mike Biselli earned the nod for special teams after the two helped push the Cardinal to a 51-37 victory over Arizona on Saturday.
Williams, a senior from Bay St. Louis, Miss., and Biselli, a senior from Sparks Nevada played pivotal roles in Stanford's fourth conference win this weekend. Williams was involved in two fumble plays that resulted in Cardinal touchdowns. He returned one fumble recovery 25 yards for a touchdown and forced a second fumble that teammate Coy Wire returned 89 yards for the score. Additionally, Williams had an interception, a pass deflection, a quarterback sack and three tackles. The Cardinal defense forced six Wildcats fumbles, recovered four - two of which were returned for touchdowns.
Biselli was perfect on three field goal attempts from 29, 44 and 21 yards. He was also unstoppable with PATs, going six-for-six in Tucson, giving him 15 points in the game. In addition, seven of his 10 kickoffs went for touchbacks.
On the offensive side, Oregon State's quarterback Jonathan Smith also earned Player of the Week honors. For more information, please check the Pac-10 website at www.pac-10.org.
