Volleyball's Logan Tom Named National and Pac-10 Player of the Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - Stanford's Logan Tom has been named the AVCA/Sports Import National Player of the Week as well as the Pac-10 Player of the Week for November 5 - 11.
Tom, a junior from Salt Lake City, Utah, led the third-ranked Cardinal to two key Conference victories over No. 11 UCLA (3-0) and No. 5 USC (3-1) last weekend. Tom had 41 kills (5.86 kpg) while hitting at a .412 clip. She also added 31 digs (4.43 dpg), eight blocks (1.14 bpg) and five service aces (0.71 sapg). Against UCLA, Tom posted 20 kills (.543), 14 digs, three service aces and three blocks. The following night versus USC, she again led the team with 21 kills (.311), 17 digs, two service aces and five blocks.
On the year, Tom is averaging a team-leading 4.87 kills per game, 3.49 digs per game and 0.55 service aces per game. She has collected 49 service aces so far this season, which ranks third for a single season at Stanford. Additionally, her 118 career service aces ranks fifth all-time in school history. Tom also has 20 double-doubles this season in 25 matches played. She is ranked in the top five in the Pac-10 in kills, digs and service aces while also being ranked in the top 25 nationally in kills per game.
It was the sixth weekly conference honor in Tom's career, Stanford's 44th honor all-time. The national honor is the first for Tom this season.
