Welcome to ESPN.com's moderated chat room. On Wednesday at 1:00 p.m., PT, Stanford fifth-year senior inside linebacker Coy Wire will stop by to talk about the Cardinal's 6-2 record and the 104th Big Game with California this Saturday.
Wire, who was on the 'Watch List' for the Lombardi Award as one of the nation's top linemen, is having a banner season in 2001. He has recorded a team leading 60 tackles, including 32 unassisted, to go along with five tackles-for-loss and one-and-a-half quarterback sacks. The Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, native also returned a fumble 89 yards for a touchdown in last week's win at Arizona.
Wire also holds the distinction as the only player in Stanford history to lead the team in both rushing and tackles. Wire came to The Farm as a running back and led the team in rushing in 1998 with 298 net yards. He was moved to linebacker in 2000 and had a team-high 81 tackles in addition to 14 tackles-for-loss and eight quarterback sacks.
