Indiana Defeats Western Kentucky At Stanford Invitational

Stanford, Calif. - Indiana guard Heather Cassady scored 24 points to lead the Hoosiers to an 85-70 win over Western Kentucky tonight at the Stanford Invitational in Maples Pavilion.
Indiana improves to 1-1 on the season while Western Kentucky drops to 0-2.
The Hoosiers held a slim 32-29 lead at halftime while shooting 91 percent from the free throw line (11 of 12). Indiana outrebounded Western Kentucky 27-15 in the first half.
Indiana's Erin McGinnis was one of four Hoosiers in double figures for the night, notching a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Jill Chapman and Jamie Gathing added 13 and 12 points respectively. Cassady lead the team with five assists on the night.
Western Kentucky was led by Leslie Logsdon's 19 points and four assists. Guard Kristina Covington chipped in 17 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Shala Reese came off the bench to score 10 points and grab five rebounds.
Indiana shot 50 percent for the game (27 of 54) and outrebounded Western Kentucky 39-28.
