Women's Golf Lands Prep All-American

Nov. 19, 2001

EUGENE - Oregon women's golf coach Shannon Rouillard has signed Erin Andrews, a 2000 American Junior Golf Association All-American, to a national letter of intent to compete for the Ducks next season.

During her recently completed senior year at Durango High School in Las Vegas, Nev., Andrews won every regular season tournament she entered in except one and placed third at the Nevada state tournament.

'Erin is one of the top junior golfers in the country,' said Rouillard. 'She will be without a doubt, one of the best incoming freshmen ever at Oregon.' In addition to her Durango High accomplishments, Andrews won the 2000 Arizona Silver Belle tournament for the 15-16 age division.

'Erin is an explosive ball striker and has a good touch around the greens,' said Rouillard. 'She is an extremely hard worker and very competitive. This is a great fit for her and for our program. She is the type of competitor that our program needs right now and I expect her to make an immediate impact.'
